IDC – Part 1

The AI Course is the perfect choice if you can’t commit to a full IDC financially or for 2 weeks. Or perhaps you want to get a taster of the IDC process or assisting OSWIs before committing fully to becoming one yourself.

The PADI Assistant Instructor Course (AI) is the first portion of the IDC -and can be completed in 5-6 days. During the course, you gain experience and continue learn the PADI System of diver education through attending presentations. You’ll also be assessed on classroom, confined and open water presentations.

Once you are an AI, you can take the OWSI program at a later date before taking the IE to become an Open Water Scuba Instructor.

As a PADI AI, you can teach:

Knowledge development
Surface skills on the Open Water Diver course
PPB Specialty (under direct supervision of a PADI OWSI)
